Frequently Asked Questions
Does all the vintage china match?
All our teacups match their saucers and cake plates. However, within your order, there will be a number of different patterns in your chosen color scheme, creating an elegant and eclectic look. Generally we have between 2 to 6 matching teacup sets in any one design, so if you prefer to build your package with several pieces of the same design, this is also possible. We will try our best to accommodate any special requests.
Can we clean the vintage china ourselves?
Due to our vintage pieces being fine bone china, they are unsuitable for the dishwasher (or microwave). We prefer to hand-wash our china ourselves to preserve the delicate designs and gilding and also to ensure they are perfectly clean for our next customer to enjoy. Hand washing is included in our price.
What happens if we break or lose an item of vintage china?
Sadly, accidents do happen and pieces go missing. Renters are responsible for any damages or losses incurred whilst our items are in their possession. A security deposit of $100 is required for all orders. For large orders over $500, the security deposit is 50% of the total order. We will return the security deposit in full the week after the event if no replacements are necessary. Breakages and loss are charged at current replacement cost per item and will be deducted from the security deposit. Payment of the security deposit indicates your acceptance of these terms.
What is your hire period?
For your convenience, we offer a generous hire period of 3 nights to allow plenty of time for setup and styling and for tidying up at the end of your tea party celebration.
Can we collect/return our order ourselves?
You are welcome to collect and return your order to our base in Los Altos at no cost. We are also very happy to deliver your items to you. A delivery fee will be charged for all locations over 5 miles from Los Altos. The delivery fee is calculated at $1 per mile plus toll fees if applicable.
Is there a minimum order at Rosie Posie Teatime?
During these challenging times, when we have to remain socially distanced in smaller groups than we would ideally like, we would like you to enjoy your tea party whether it’s tea for 2 or 222!
